yAGRICULTURE MINISTER TRANSPLATED SALI PADDY BY MECHANICAL RICE TRANSPLANTER IN GOLAGHAT: ENCOURAGING FARMING COMMUNITY FOR MECHANIZATION
Mechanization in paddy cultivation is the key for doubling farmers’ income by reducing production cost and also to change the Agricultural scenario of Assam said by Honourable Agriculture Minister of Assam Mr.Atul Bora on 18thday July, 2021 in Borpak village, Bokakhat Development Block in connection with the “Ceremonial Mechanical Transplanting of Salipaddy” under APART, KrishiVigyanKender, Golaghat. While inaugurating a crop show on mechanical transplanting by the Honourable Agriculture Minister of Assam, Mr.Atul Bora encouraged the farmers to use Mechanical rice transplanter for transplanting paddy. After the welcome address by Dr.Bhabesh Ch. Deka, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK, Golaghat at the beginning of the programme,the Honourable Agriculture Minister, Mr.Atul Bora has enlightened the farmers & other participants on the importance of mechanization in agriculture sector and its benefits to reduce production cost and to increase profitability which was then followed by demonstration in the paddy field. In his speech,he also requested educated youth to take farming as a profession and make Assam as one of the five best state among India in coming five years. All the scientist of KVK, Golaghat, APART staff and IRRI scientists were present and technically supported for smooth conduction of the demonstration. The programme was held in the paddy field of Mr.Pradip Das, a dynamic and progressive farmer from Borpak village. A total of 15 bighas of land was transplanted the rice variety Bahadur sub 1 through mechanical transplanter. In this village nearly 90 bighas of paddy land has been covered through various demonstration under APART, KVK, Golghat for the year 2021-2022. Farmers were motivated by seeing the technology in the presence of Honourable Agriculture Minister at their village.

yCelebration of 7th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2021

KrishiVigyan Kendra Golaghat joined with the world to Celebrate 7 th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2021. A total of twenty two participants including Scientist, office staff and field workers of KrishiVigyan Kendra Golaghat had successfully participated in the programme. At the very beginning MridusmitaBorthakur SMS (Community Science) welcomed the participants. Dr B. C. Deka Senior Scientist and Head explained the significance of Yoaga for physical and mental well- being and the current year theme of Celebrate 7 th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2021. This followed by an one hour yoga session, the session was graced by young yoga instructor Ms. SupriyaChetri ,MithaamChapori Golaghat. The programme was ended by light refreshment.

yCelebration of event on Food and Nutrition for Farmers on 26.08.2021

A day long training programme has organized by KrishiVigyan Kendra, Golaght on the occasion of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on Food and Nutrition for Farmers on 26.08.2021 for the farmers. A total of 40 (forty) farmers have attended the programme. The objective of the programme was to create awareness about food and nutritional security of the farmers. The programme has started with the inaugural speech by Mr. Ratul. Ch. Neog, Farm Manager, KVK, Golaghat.  Dr. Ranjit Das, Senior Medical Officer, Khumtai Model Hospital, Golaghat has graced the programme with his presence and delivered a lecture on “Protective foods and their role in our daily diet” followed by an informative speech on balanced nutrition by Mrs. MridushmitaBorthakur, Subject Matter Specialist, KVK, Golaghat. Ms. Papori Bora, Project Associate, APART, KVK, Golaghat has also delivered a talk about food and nutrition security from locally available food sources and importance of nutrients for farm women as well as their families.  A farmer scientist interaction programme has been also conducted during the programme. The programme has successfully ended with the feedback from the farmers.

Celebration of Poshan month

KrishiVigyan Kendra Golaghat joined with the Nation to celebrate POSHAN month on 17th September 2021 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Prime Ministers Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment (POSHAN AbhiYaan) aims to improve nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers. A total of 100 numbers of participants including anganwadi workers, farmer and farm women and specially girls were successfully participated in the progrmme.  At the very beginning Ms. M. Borthakur ,SMS (Community Science), KrishiVigyan Kendra Golaghat welcome the participants and elaborated the importance of POSHAN scheme, Nutri-garden and Nutri- cereal and their role on human health. Dr. B. C. Deka Senior Scientist and Head, KrishiVigyan Kendra Golaghat explained the role of bio-fortified crops for human health. Mr. Nabin Ch. Bora, District Agriculture Officer , Golaghat explained the role of plantation for sustainable Agriculture, Mr. NabinGohain, District president APPCU, Golaghat narrated the importance of traditional foods and minor fruits prevailing in the district.  On that occasion a plantation programme was also orgnised in the KVK, Golaghat premise and seed packets  and 1000 numbers of plants were also distributed to the particints. The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Ms. K Borah, SMS (Agronomy) KrishiVigyan Kendra Golaghat.

elebration of 76th Independence Day  :

Krishi Vigyan Kendra Golaghat celebrated 76 Independence day at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Golaghat. . The Senior Scientist and Head  hoisted our national flag in the morning and the people assembled there participated in singing our national anthem.
A total of fifty (50) participants including Scientist , office staff, farmer and farm women had successfully participated in the programme. On this occasion Mr. Sadananda Gogoi, uncle of Martyred Brave heart Captain Jintu Gogoi of Khumtai was present as Guest of honour. On behalf of the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat , Krishi vigyan Kendra , Golaghat felicitated Mr. Niranjan Pegu, an Innovative farmer from Chohola for his contribution towards farming community. A plantation programme was also organized in this context.

"Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari" campaign

KVK, Golaghat organized Farmers Fair cum Exhibition on 26th April ’22 on the occasion of "Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari" campaign under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration from 25th April to 30th April’22. In the beginning of the programme, objective and welcome speech was delivered by Dr. B. C. Deka, Senior Scientist and Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Golaghat. The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble DC of Golaghat Mr. Mrigesh Narayan Barua. Hon’ble DC of Golaghat addressed to the farmers of the district and gave his valuable suggestions. Dr. Manuranjan Neog, Associate Director, Extension Education, Assam Agricultural University was interact with the farmers and gave special emphasis on doubling farmer’s income. Officials from different line department were present in this programme. More than ten numbers of exhibition stalls were installed to showcase recent agricultural technologies, promote agricultural entrepreneurship, showcase technique of nature farming, best agriculture practices and farm mechanization etc. The Webinar on inauguration of  "Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari - Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" was telecasted. One farmer scientist interaction programme was organized and lecture on importance of millets, different govt. skim for the benefit of farmers and bio fortification in cereals are also given.
About 40 nos. of Govt. officers , NGO members , persons of print & E-Media and 200 farmers from various parts of Golaghat district  participated in the programme.
